Constitutional Court judge Domnica Manole is back at the head of the constitutional control body. The decision has been taken today by voting. Yesterday, the chairperson of the Constitutional Court, Nicolae Rosca, resigned. He had been in office for a little more than six months, although his mandate is for three years. Manole said that Rosca resigned from the post of CC chairperson, but will continue to work as a judge. According to her, he pleaded personal reasons and a new chairperson will be elected from among the institution’s judges. The decision to return Manole as CC chairperson is final and will take effect on the day it is made and published in the Monitorul Oficial. Domnica Manole chaired the CC from April 2020 to April 2023. When her mandate expired, Rosca was elected to the post and Manole became an ordinary judge of the CC.
