PAS MP Radu Marian said that farmers should realize that the budget has its limits, and in order to satisfy their claims, the authorities should “take money meant for other purposes.”
“We cannot infinitely compensate for losses and perpetuate the situation. I personally believe that a lot has been done for my colleagues in grain production. Offering them 500 million would mean taking something from someone else,” Marian said during a program broadcast on TV8.
At the same time, Radu Marian assures that the state will support the agricultural sector, offering support in the form of subsidies to increase productivity.
“We have made certain commitments, we are making every effort to support farmers, and we did it by offering them 150 million for diesel fuel, 200 million for VAT refunds. We have to recognize that the budget is not limitless and that we have commitments in many other categories. We are interested in developing agriculture, in incentivizing businesses to produce locally,” the PAS MP said.
