However, some PAS representatives categorically denied this information, calling it rumors. Earlier it became known that Nicu Popescu had resigned. “I need a break. I will continue to contribute to the ruling team’s efforts to Moldova’s accession to the European Union,” Popescu said, speaking about the motives behind his decision. Cristina Gherasimov has been appointed State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration since 22 November 2023. She holds a degree in international relations, a master’s degree from the University of Wroclaw in Poland, a master’s degree from the European Institute for Advanced International Studies and a doctorate in political science from Rutgers University in the United States. Cristina Gherasimov has been the Foreign Policy and European Integration Adviser to the President of the Republic of Moldova since 2021.
