The head of the Public Property Agency (PPA), Roman Cojuhari, believes that the reorganization of Moldova Railway represents an important step in creating a competitive, fair and transparent environment for rail transport. In an interview, he explained that the authorities want the process of managing infrastructure and transport activities to be transparent and independent.
“Thus, our citizens will enjoy quality services and entrepreneurs will be motivated to carry out their operational activities using the railway infrastructure,” said Cojuhari, adding that this is the only solution to get rid of the problem of salary debts.
According to Cojuhari, after the reorganization, the quality of services provided by Moldova Railway will improve and this will also solve the problem of salary debts.
They have been talking about the reorganization of Moldova Railway since 2019. Along with it, a government resolution was adopted.
As per the decision, three companies will appear after the reorganization:
1) Joint Stock Company “Railway Infrastructure of Moldova”;
2) Joint Stock Company “Railway Freight Transport”;
3) Joint Stock Company “Railway Passenger Transport”.
