The owners of the land plots needed for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power transmission line in 30 localities were informed about the importance of the project for the people and the country.
The special expropriation procedure was also explained, namely how to fill in and submit a compensation application, the documents confirming ownership, the way to determine the compensation payment, noi.md reports.
Public consultations were held from 22.01.2024 to 09.02.2024 and were attended by representatives of the Joint Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), Moldelectrica, IPOT, social consultant Green Partners and representatives of the contractor KEC.
According to Government Decision No. 1037/2023, about 900 land plots in private ownership, as well as in public ownership of the administrative-territorial units of Taraclia district, ATU Gagauzia, Cahul, Leova, Cimislia, Hincesti, Ialoveni districts and mun. Chisinau (Bacioi commune) would be expropriated and transferred to state ownership.
Independent assessors will evaluate the land and determine the compensation through the Institute of Land Use Planning, in line with the Moldovan legislation and evaluation reports. Compensation proposals would be sent to land owners in the short term.
The construction of the 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead transmission line is part of the Moldova Electricity System Development Project. The cost of the project, financed by the World Bank, is 61 million euros.
The line will transmit electricity from Romania or other European markets to Chisinau bypassing the Moldovan TPP in the Transnistrian region.
