The Council for the promotion of investment projects of national importance has suspended the operations of Media Content Distribution, the company that owns the Canal 5 TV channel and the Maestro FM radio station. This decision was taken “due to suspicions that the beneficial owners of the company are involved in activities affecting state security”. Earlier, the Council for the promotion of investment projects of national importance temporarily suspended six companies (SRLs) holding broadcasting licenses for eight TV channels: Prime, Publika TV, Canal 2, Canal 3, Accent TV, ITV, Orizont TV and TV6.
