Moldova and Lithuania will strengthen their relations due to new agreements to be signed in Vilnius on 28 May. Today the Cabinet has approved decisions on the signing of agreements between the two governments on technical and financial cooperation, as well as on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information. According to a Cabinet statement, the agreement between the Moldovan and Lithuanian governments on technical and financial cooperation is aimed at consolidating economic ties, enhancing the energy independence, as well as at institutional development and support for Moldova in the EU accession process. The implementation of the document will contribute to the creation of infrastructure to support agriculture and rural development, interaction in the field of fire and rescue services, strengthening resistance to misinformation with a focus on independent media, increasing energy efficiency and active use of renewable energy sources. The agreement between Moldova and Lithuania on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information establishes the necessary legal framework for this process. According to the agreement, both countries commits to take measures to protect information and ensure an equivalent level of secrecy for all data exchanged.
