The Energy Ministry initiates the procedure for introducing high alert on the Moldovan natural gas market. The decision was taken at the suggestion of Vestmoldtransgaz after Kyiv informed Chisinau about possible disruptions in gas supplies from Russia due to military actions in Kursk (Suja), where there is a logistics hub for transporting gas from Russia to Europe via Ukraine, radiomoldova.md reports. The Emergency Commission has 12 hours to consider the ministry’s proposal. ‘At the moment there are no disruptions, no emergencies, there is no immediate threat to the system. But the transport operator in Ukraine informed us that there is a possible risk situation, that, as in any military action, certain restrictions may occur,’ Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said, tv8.md reports. ‘We will propose to the Commission for Emergency Situations to introduce high alert regime. The Commission will decide whether this regime will be declared, what interference methods will be used and whether there is such a need,’ Parlicov said.
