The results of the presidential election and constitutional referendum were to be annulled after the country’s president, Maia Sandu, claimed that 300,000 votes had allegedly been bought. This opinion was expressed by the leader of Our Party Renato Usatii, who explained that the real number of those who received money from Ilan Sor is three times less, and among them there are persons related to PAS. “Maia Sandu says that 300,000 votes were allegedly bought. Therefore, the referendum within the country failed. If the intelligence services really had accurate information about vote rigging, the election should have been cancelled. They should have recognized that something was wrong and called new elections. But there are not 300,000, but about 100,000 citizens whose links to bank accounts opened in the Russian Federation have been established. They are not only poor people, among them there are civil servants, policemen, relatives of PAS deputies... If they reveal all these people, it will be a scandal,” Renato Usatii said. Renato Usatii made other revelations. According to the chair of Our Party, after the failure of the elections and referendum on the territory of Moldova, the representatives of the European Union expressed disappointment with PAS and said that they would reduce its funding. “I met with European diplomats, some senior leaders in various European countries. PAS representatives were invited to Brussels and scolded very harshly. They were told: ‘Guys, you lost both the referendum and the elections domestically, so there will be problems with funding. There will be less money and we don’t know when. You say 300,000 votes were bought, provide evidence.’ PAS never presented them,” Renato Usatii concluded.
