A wave of discontent erupted on the Web after the results of the 2024-2025 compensation programme became known on Tuesday, December 10.
Many complain that they were not recognized as vulnerable or were offered a minimum compensation of 300 lei, zdg.md reported.
In some cases, according to citizens, even pensioners, disabled people or single mothers with children, even though they have low incomes, will not receive compensation or will receive minimal amounts:
“My two pensioners (parents) with a total monthly income of 5,700 lei received 320 lei as compensation. Words fail.”
“My mother with a salary and my father with a pension together receive 10,000 lei in addition my father is a war veteran. They have a compensation of 300 lei”.
“Last year, those who should not have received compensation also received it. This year, even those who really need it do not receive it. That’s all you need to know about compensation!”, - the disgruntled citizens write.
Some blame the government for providing such little or no compensation. Others, however, hold Vadim Ceban, chairman of the Moldovagaz board of directors, guilty as well.
Statement of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection
Diana Blanaru, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, advised citizens who believe their compensation has been calculated incorrectly or who have been found to be invulnerable to contact the Green Line so that operators have the opportunity to check and explain why the claimant has been assigned a certain level of vulnerability. In doing so, if errors are identified, they will be rectified.
According to Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu, 634 thousand families will use the compensations.
“More than 237 thousand families will receive compensations in the amount of 800 lei - the maximum amount of compensations. Almost 400 thousand families will receive compensation in the amount of 300 to 800 lei,” Buzu specified earlier.
