Former Energy Minister Victor Parlicov accused former Energocom director Victor Binzari of not taking advantage of the market situation in February to buy cheap gas.
Parlicov claims that the state would have saved tens of millions of euros and that he demanded Binzari’s resignation in order to propose that another person take over responsibility for the procurement, zdg.md reported.
“He could buy cheap gas and keep it in storage. Did he really think he couldn’t sell that cheap stored gas to anyone? Let’s get serious!!! This reason that I wasn’t sure we would have anyone to sell to is a failed and false point from the start. We have reached minimum prices.
I reported on this situation. We had meetings, protocol ones, including on 23 February, where we signaled that the prices are minimal, they will not go lower, it’s time to buy.
If we had purchased gas at that time, we would have saved tens of millions of euros by saving exactly on the purchase of gas from that period. I made only one decision - to ask him to replace it, so that there would be a person who could take this on,” Victor Parlicov said in an interview with zdg.md.
Former Energy Minister Viktor Parlikov, dismissed at the request of Prime Minister Recean on 5 December, said that he had constantly informed the prime minister about the situation in the energy sector. Moreover, he claimed that he had asked him “countless times” to dismiss the head of Energocom, Victor Binzari, as this company was to blame for the crisis in the sector.
Recall that on 5 December, Prime Minister Dorin Recean ordered the dismissal of Victor Binzari and Serghei Tofilat, a member of the supervisory board of Moldovagaz, on the grounds that they had failed to ensure inter-institutional cooperation, which had led to an increase in gas tariffs.
