Prime Minister Dorin Recean has made it clear that the government intends to initiate the nationalization of some strategic facilities in order to ensure the country’s energy security. In this regard, the head of the Ministry of Justice was instructed to prepare the necessary amendments to the legislation within a maximum period of three weeks, bani.md reported. The statement was made during a government meeting. Prime minister did not specify which facilities might be subject to nationalization, but stressed that the measure is aimed at strengthening national control over vital infrastructure, given that dependence on external resources continues to create serious vulnerabilities for the country. The Bani.md portal suggests that among the possible targets are Moldovagaz and Cuciurgan power plant, which are currently controlled by Russian companies.
