The Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) of the Republic of Moldova has imposed an entry ban on several individuals deemed to pose a potential threat to national security. According to the agency, the decision was made due to suspicions of these individuals’ connections to foreign interference and their involvement in an event “organized in a non-transparent manner, with questionable funding and suspicious ties to the criminal group ‘Sor’,” reports newtv.md. SIS stated that some of the participants and organizers are promoting an extremist agenda, threatening the territorial integrity and democratic order of the Republic of Moldova. One of the invited guests, according to the agency, is an open supporter of Russian aggression against Ukraine and publicly endorses the occupation of territories that do not belong to Russia. He is also actively spreading hostile narratives, including the claim of “protecting oppressed Russian citizens”, referencing the situation in Transnistria. Against the backdrop of growing regional security tensions, SIS warns of intensified hybrid actions by Russia on Moldovan territory. These efforts are often disguised as cultural or civil initiatives and are aimed at manipulating public opinion and sowing confusion. Authorities stress that they will act decisively, within the framework of the law, to protect the constitutional order and the interests of the country.
