Home / Society / Cernauteanu: Plahotniuc Is Isolated and Is Not Communicating with Andronachi and Tutu
While in Prison No. 13 in Chisinau, Vladimir Plahotniuc is unable to meet with his former colleagues Vladimir Andronachi and Constantin Tutu. This was reported by the head of the General Police Inspectorate (GPI), Viorel Cernauteanu.
The head of the GPI also noted that Plahotniuc is not being held in the same cell where Vlad Filat was previously held, according to tv8.md.
“At least, as far as I know about the operation of penitentiary institutions, it is impossible for these individuals to cross paths in closed rooms. The cells and other rooms where they are held are separate, and they have no contact or interaction with each other. There are separate areas for walks,” said Viorel Cernauteanu on the Cutia Neagră PLUS program.
According to him, Plahotniuc is being held in a more isolated area of the prison, without contact with other inmates, and additional security measures have been put in place:
“Depending on past cases or the activities of a specific individual, certain security measures are taken by prison staff to protect or prevent interference with these individuals. This does not mean that they have a more privileged position than others. It is a matter of ensuring safety for both them and other prisoners.”
Regarding the possible transfer of Vladimir Plahotniuc to house arrest, the head of the GPI emphasized that the police do not have the authority to influence court decisions, but only supervise if the court makes such a decision.
