An official ceremony was held at the military training ground in Bălți to mark the start of construction work on new ammunition depots.
The event was attended by the Chief of the General Staff and Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Vitalie Micov, the leadership of the Moldova Motorized Infantry Brigade, the US Embassy officials, and the mayor of Bălți, Alexandru Petcov.
“The project is funded by the United States of America and has a clear goal – to increase the safety of the Balti residents and modernize the military infrastructure in the region,” the Balti mayor’s office said.
The work is scheduled to be completed in July 2026.
