The chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said that for some reason Maia Sandu believes that “she has some kind of moral, political or ideological advantage to address the Georgian people in this tone”.
According to him, hearing anti-Georgian rhetoric from the Moldovan president is outrageous, apsny.ge reports.
“First of all, I would like to remind you that Maia Sandu is a person who supported the overthrow of power on October 4. When the Georgian presidential palace was being violently stormed, at that very moment she publicly supported the group involved in the overthrow of the government, which in itself shows what values this person stands for.
There is also suspicions that she is doing this at the behest of others, because she remembers us once a year and for some reason, she thinks she has some moral, political, ideological advantage to speak to the Georgian people in this tone. Therefore, of course, when we hear such anti-Georgian rhetoric from the Moldovan president, it is completely outrageous and it is important to react to it. We probably should have had a very clear reaction, in addition to the statements when the Moldovan president openly supported the groups involved in the violent overthrow of the government.
Maia Sandu is a person who supports the liquidation of her own state. Therefore, I don’t think we have anything to talk about state values. Let me remind you of her motivation: her rationale was that Moldova is a small state, a small state cannot survive, therefore it must join a large state, and not that Moldovans and Romanians have any cultural or national ties. When the head of state says that her country is so small that it must be abolished in order to survive, the fact is that we are have different values,” Papuashvili said.
