Finance Minister Andrian Gavrilita stated that the first tranche of 270 million euros from the EU financial assistance package was not spent through the state budget, but was allocated to projects and institutions implementing programs in Moldova’s interests.
Answering the question about the purposes for which the funds were used, the minister clarified that these are mainly grants for education, training and various projects that are not reflected as direct expenditures in the state budget. According to him, this money does not go directly to the budget, but is used for the benefit of the country through structures implementing relevant projects, bani.md reports.
The Finance Minister noted that he did not have all the technical details of the allocation of funds, stressing that the responsible institutions could provide full information, including at the request of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. He added that the relevant specialists have the necessary expertise and will provide explanations if necessary.
According to Gavrilita, the first tranche of 270 million euros was transferred and credited to the accounts of the Ministry of Finance on June 11. This assistance is part of a larger financial package from the European Union, totaling 19 billion euros, intended to support the Republic of Moldova.
