The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine want the same thing: a sky above their heads that they can look at with hope for the future, not fear. This was stated by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu after a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to ipn.md. “We want to build a world where our children live in freedom, and we are reliable partners on this path, united not only by a common border, but also by democratic values and European principles,” the prime minister wrote on Facebook, adding that he had discussed with President Zelensky “ways to use the close ties between our countries”. A delegation from the Republic of Moldova, led by Alexandru Munteanu, paid an official visit to the Ukrainian capital on 10 February. The program began with a tribute to the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for independence and freedom. During the visit, Alexandru Munteanu held talks with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and First Deputy Chairman of the Rada Oleksandr Korniyenko. The government announced the signing of three bilateral agreements during the visit: An agreement on cooperation in the repatriation of unaccompanied children, a protocol on simplifying the procedure for establishing the Cosauti-Yampil state border crossing point, and a document establishing the right to paid work for family members of diplomatic and consular staff.
