The Moldavian President Igor Dodon evaded the direct answer to the question about the recognition of Ukrainian integrity, but stated that “for all 27 years of Moldova’s independence, the leadership of our country recognized the territorial integrity of the neighboring state and nothing has changed since then”. “For 27 years of Moldova’s independence the leadership of our state has never called into question the territorial integrity of neighboring states, and nothing has changed. We have the unresolved conflicts over Transnistria. We want to be friends with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine. I hope that a dialogue will begin between these our two friends. But both Moldovan leadership and citizens should draw a lesson from the mistakes of our friends”, stressed Dodon. He refused to answer the question “What country does Crimea belong to?”, noting that he “has already said his opinion on this matter”. At the same time, the President said that he is always open for a meeting with the presidents of neighboring countries. “As for the meetings with the presidents of neighboring countries, I am always ready to meet with them either in the Republic of Moldova or in Romania or in Ukraine. There are no scheduled meetings with Mr. Poroshenko on our agenda but perhaps we will meet with him in international platforms”, Dodon said. Source: Noi.md
