Russia has no plans to close its trade representation in Kyiv, said Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Alexey Gruzdev. According to him, the trade representation continues to work and “so far there are no instructions to curtail its activities”. “Another thing is that practical work is very limited, since a trade mission must rely on official contacts, and they are practically frozen, though not through our fault”, said Gruzdev. Gruzdev added that Russian trade missions in the United States continue to work, although the apparatus of organizations was reduced last year after the State Department's demands to close these facilities. There are no changes in the work of the trade mission in Great Britain, Gruzdev stressed. According to him, “everything is normal” and even contacts are intensified, including through the parliamentary community. “There are a lot of constructive-minded people there from the point of view of developing economic relations with Russia”, Gruzdev said and added that the next Russian-British economic forum will take place in November.
