The Democratic party (PDM) gives up power so that the country can come out of the political crisis, stated Vladimir Cebotari  after the National Political Council PDM on June 14 He said that the government of Pavel Filip resigns. “From today, the Prime Minister and Ministers resign. This is a signal that the PDM does not hold on to power,” said the Vice-Chairman of the PDM. Cebotari stressed that this would not solve the problem of blocking the work of state structures, and it will have to be solved by the PSRM-ACUM. Nevertheless, Cebotari stressed that the government under Maia Sandu is illegal “as long as there are decisions of the current constitutional court”, and state agencies can not legally implement its decisions. So as Cebotari said, the Democratic Party does not abandon the idea of early elections and considers it as the only way out in the current situation. “This is necessary in order for the new government to be legitimate,” he said, adding that the PDM has a plan to make sure that “the parties that created the coalition could legally gain leadership over the government.” He added that his party is ready to find solutions, “so that Moldova has a legitimate Parliament and government. We realize the crucial role of PDM in politics, given the fragility of PSRM-ACUM,” he said. Cebotari also thanked supporters of PDM and assured them that Democrats would continue to work for the benefit of the country and to fight against those who want federalization. According to him, supporters of the PDM were ready to protest together with the Democratic party, but the party leadership calls to remain calm in order to prevent clashes. He urged them to support the PDM and trust the party’s decisions. “Soon we will provide the grounds to be proud of us,” he stressed. As Cebotari stressed, “the PDM remains a single team and is ready to work effectively and for the benefit of citizens.” The Democrat added that in the near future the formation will announce further plans. “And now we can have a rest,” he concluded.
