Home / Economy / Energocom Becomes First Moldovan Company to Surpass €1 Billion in Revenue
Moldova’s 100% state-owned enterprise Energocom recorded sales revenue of approximately 20.28 billion lei in 2025.
The figure is 36% higher than in 2024, and 17.8% above the previous record of 17.22 billion lei set in 2023, according to Mold-Street.
Energocom has thus not only become the largest state-owned company in terms of revenue in 2025, but has also set a historic record for the Republic of Moldova.
Energocom is also the first company in Moldova to achieve annual revenue exceeding one billion euros. However, the company has not yet published its annual financial statements, including unaudited figures, which could shed light on the reasons behind this increase.
According to data analysed by Mold-Street, the high figure is due to both electricity and natural gas purchase and sales transactions. The transfer of the natural gas supplier role from Moldovagaz to Energocom in September 2025 also contributed significantly.
Despite the substantial increase in revenue, Energocom’s net profit declined. In 2025, it amounted to 430.6 million lei, about 46% less than the previous year, when the company reported earnings of 793.2 million lei.
According to published annual reports, Energocom significantly outperformed other companies in Moldova in terms of revenue in 2025. Moldovagaz ranked second, with revenue of 15.39 billion lei.
The top five also included Moldretail Group (Linella), with 14.54 billion lei in revenue, Loteria Moldovei, with 13.26 billion lei, and Rompetrol Moldova, with 11.21 billion lei.
