Ana Revenco Ends Mandate at Strategic Communication Center

Ana Revenco announced her decision to end her mandate as the director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation. According to her, in 2023 she accepted the proposal to establish the Center from scratch during a period of intensified information aggression against the Republic of Moldova. At that time, the institution had to be established and launched amid a crisis. Revenco noted that today the Center is a fully-fledged organization with a professional team and well-established operational mechanisms. She emphasized that the model developed in Chisinau is already being studied in Brussels and other countries as a potential example for implementation. According to her, the Center’s activities were based on a flexible and proactive approach that involves not only responding to disinformation, but also monitoring risks, predicting information attacks, identifying vulnerabilities, coordinating government agencies, and preparing countermeasures. She said the Center was established through the joint efforts of government agencies, civil society, the academic community, and independent media, and that its activities have contributed to the protection of democratic processes and the country’s European course. Revenco thanked the Center’s staff and everyone who participated in its creation and development, wishing the team success in adapting to new challenges. Finally, she stated that she would continue to participate in projects aimed at strengthening democracy and supporting the Republic of Moldova’s European path.
