The Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine has taken the initiative to resume the imposition of sanctions against the Rybnitsa Moldova Steel Works, which was removed from the sanctions list in March. According to the neighboring country's media, it argues that Moldova Steel Works “has not stopped activities that harm the national interests of Ukraine, and one of the largest buyers of its products is Russia, including for the needs of the defense order,” infotag.md reports. “Moldova Steel Works is located on the territory of Moldova in the Transnistrian region, but is de facto under the control of the owners associated with the Russian authorities. Ukraine’s authorities have previously taken action regarding illegal Moldova Steel Works activities carried out with the use of affiliates to execute orders of podcasting companies,” – noted in the Ministry. The inclusion of the Moldova Steel Works in the sanction list will make impossible the economic relations of the enterprise not only with Ukraine but also with the EU countries. Moldova Steel Works was included in the sanctions list at the end of May 2018 on the initiative of the Association of metallurgical enterprises Ukrmetallurgprom, which advocated the ban on the export of ferrous scrap from Ukraine due to its shortage for domestic plants. However, in March 2019 Moldova Steel Works was excluded from the sanctions list of Ukraine at the request of former Moldovan Prime Miniser Pavel Filip. Point.md
