Even he is one of the founders of the Democratic Party of Moldova, ex-Premier Ion Sturza considers the PDM should disappear. According to him, at the extraordinary congress of the PDM set for September 7, the party should be dissolved. The issue was developed in the talk show “Cutia Neagră” (Black Box) on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
“It should be dissolved voluntarily or Parliament should find legal and constitutional arguments to outlaw it. After the developments witnessed around this party, this grouping that caused so much hate in our society should vanish,” stated Ion Sturza.
He noted a possible resetting of the current parliamentary majority and the formation of a majority between the PSRM and the PDM cannot be fully excluded even if the current coalition was accepted by the partners from the East. “Mister Kozak (e.n. Dmitry Kozak, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister) knew very well the conditions imposed by the Democratic Party in those negotiations, the insistence with which Plahotniuc imposed himself as Prime Minister or that two-step move with Candu as Parliament Speaker,” stated the ex-Premier.
Ion Sturza said that besides two-three leaders, most of the members of the PDM are profoundly demoralized and do not want to be associated with the “criminal regime”. Only several members of the PDM left the country, while the others remained and are liable to prosecution. “The usurpation of the state power took place. There were signed decrees and organized battalions for defending the state institutions even if we had a Parliament, a coalition and a legal Government. These are not jokes,” noted the former politician.
Leaders of the PDM said the party is to be restructured and its new leadership will be elected in the Democratic Party’s extraordinary congress scheduled for September 7 this year.
