Russia will not change the law and will not allow the export of pipeline gas to Ukraine to anyone other than the existing exporter Gazprom, said the head of the Energy Ministry of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak on Tuesday, September 24. According to him, the statement of minister of energy and environmental protection Oleksiy Orzhel  about the possibility of importing a certain amount of Russian gas not only from Gazprom refers exclusively to the fact that European legislation does not limit access to gas transportation infrastructure. However, when asked about how to implement such a plan under the conditions of Russian legislation, Novak said that there has been a single exporter in Russia, and no changes are expected in this regard, RIA Novosti reports. Earlier September 20, Orzhel said that the country would consider purchasing a certain amount of gas from Russia. According to him, it may be done not only from Gazprom. Last week in Brussels, another round of consultations took place between representatives of Kyiv, Moscow and the European Commission on the conditions for using the Ukrainian gas transportation system after the completion of the current contract between Ukrainian Naftogaz and Russian Gazprom on January 1, 2020.
