Action and Solidarity Party expressed its “disagreement with the incoherent and inconsistent position of President Igor Dodon on the issue of the illegal presence of foreign military troops on the territory of the Republic of Moldova". This statement was made in the context of speech of the head of the republic at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, unimedia.info reports. “One cannot request de facto recognition and respect of the neutrality of a state at the same time trying to cover up the existence of occupation troops on that state’s territory. In this regard Action and Solidarity Party firmly reiterates its position that the immediate withdrawal of Russian Federation troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova is the only way to recognize and observe the sovereignty and unity of the state of the Republic of Moldova and the sine qua non condition for settling the Transnistrian dispute,” the statement reads. President Igor Dodon called on the UN tribune to recognize the actual neutrality of Moldova. “We do not want to be treated as neutral territory anymore; this is something different from a neutral state”, the head of state said.
