Grigore Novac, the Socialists Party (PSRM) deputy, admitted that the parliament has a parliamentary majority consisting of deputies from the PSRM and the Democratic Party. Novac announced this on March 3 on the air of the Politica broadcast on TV8 channel.
At the same time, Novac denied that now there is a coalition between PSRM and PDM.
“Until we have formed a coalition. We have created a majority in parliament,” Novak said.
Novac explained that PDM strongly supports the government of Ion Chicu and thus forms an unvoiced majority in parliament.
“Grigore Novac says that there is no coalition between PSRM and PDM, if you want to ask me about it. But the parliamentary majority exists in all formulas,” Novak said.
It should be noted that recently the PDM chairman Pavel Filip noted that the party is now in a difficult situation - not in power, but not in opposition and intends to move on. At the same time, Filip noted that the Democrats are ready to create a coalition with parties of both the right and left wing. According to Filip, the members of the Democratic Party are open for dialogue and are ready to create a new parliamentary majority.
Democrats previously stated that the Democratic Party is in opposition.
President Igor Dodon at the end of January called on the PSRM not to rush to form a coalition with the Democratic Party. At the same time, the head of state called on the coalition parties “Action and Solidarity” and “Dignity and Truth Platform” to “not burn bridges” and not exclude the possibility of returning to the negotiating table with the socialists on the creation of a parliamentary majority.
