The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed the receipt of the complaint, signed by deputy Stefan Gatcan, in which he reports that some socialist deputies exerted pressure on him, forcing him to abandon the mandate. This information was confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s press service chief Maria Vieru, anticoruptie.md reports. According to Vieru, prosecutors will check Gatskan's statements, after which they will decide to initiate criminal proceedings. At the same time, Maria Vieru did not confirm that she had received a complaint from the head of the PSRM parliamentary faction, Corneliu Furculita, about alleged corruption of Stefan Gatcan by Pro Moldova deputies. On the morning of July 1, deputy Stefan Gatcan filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office, in which he complained about the “harassment, intimidation and blackmail” that he suffered on June 30 from a group of socialist deputies. The document was posted on the Pro Moldova website, shortly after the party announced that Gatcana was being held and they could not find him for several hours. Recall that earlier, Gatcan announced that he was leaving PSRM and joining Pro Moldova, and the next day, the leader of the Socialist faction Corneliu Furculita published a document stating that MP Gatcan is giving up his mandate. Later, media reported that Stefan Gatcan, along with his wife and children, left the territory of the Republic of Moldova. It was reported that he crossed the border with Romania. Deputy Gatcan also published two short video messages in which he stated that he was okay and that he was undergoing “psycho-emotional rehabilitation”.
