Igor Dodon announced that he would propose solutions to start the process of dissolving the current parliament. According to the head of state, the procedure should be carried out in such a way that the next president is obliged to sign a decree dissolving the Legislative Assembly, deschide.md reported. “Today we will talk with the parties that have formed the ruling coalition. You know that the parliamentary majority is practically at its limit. As president, I remain confident that this parliament should be dissolved and early parliamentary elections should be held. How can we arrange this process so that the next president has no other choice but to sign a decree on the dissolution of parliament after the inauguration? We will propose legal measures to start such a process. Many MPs have left their factions, so this parliament should be dissolved,” Dodon said. Note that Maia Sandu, who is considered Dodon's main opponent in the presidential elections, also considers early parliamentary elections necessary to held immediately after presidential elections.
