MP from the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Oleg Lipskii said he had asked the General Prosecutor's Office to investigate the illegal financing of Maia Sandu's election campaign in the 2016 presidential elections. According to the socialist, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), led by Maia Sandu, received 300 thousand lei from a company owned by Ilan Shor. Lepsky announced this on September 2, on his Facebook page. The PAS called these accusations a lie.
“A company affiliated with Ilan Shor illegally financed presidential candidate, Maia Sandu’s election campaign. It is about 300 thousand lei from the Dufremol company, transferred to the accounts of the Action and Solidarity party, so that they could be illegally used to finance the election campaign of Maia Sandu. I found out that so-called PAS volunteers are paid using illegal schemes. This evidenced the recording of a conversation between a representative of the Dufremol company and Igor Grosu the general secretary of the Maia Sandu’s party” Lipskii wrote.
In addition, the socialist MP said that “PAS received a donation of 100 thousand lei from an airline company with mixed capital”.
In this regard, the socialist deputy appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office with a request to “check information about the illegal financing of the activities of the Action and Solidarity party, as well as the election campaign of Maia Sandu.
PAS spokeswoman Aurica Jardan told NM that all charges are false.
“The socialists are using the dusted old lie invented by Plahotniuc to help Dodon become president. But this lie will not help him stay in power. People are tired of liars and thieves,” Jardan said.
Representative of the Prosecutor General's Office Maria Vieru told NM that there had been no requests from MP Oleg Lipskii.
Recall, in November 2016, Ilan Shor confirmed that he donated money to the Maia Sandu party. But PAS refused this donation.
