Andrei Nastase: I told Maya Sandu Not to Search Approaches to Our Mayors

Andrei Nastase is concerned that Maia Sandu, the PDS candidate for the presidential election, is in discussions with the mayors of the DA Platform to secure support if she reaches the second round of presidential election. Andrei Nastase, being as well a November 1 elections presidential candidate, said that during a short meeting with Maia Sandu, he told her that there was no need to “pay visits to mayors”, since in 2016 it was their own initiative to support her, jurnal.md reported. “Ms. Sandu decided she needed to talk to our mayors. I don’t do so. She explained to me that she was talking with them to make sure that she would have support in the second round, and I assured her that she did not need to go to the mayors,” Andrei Nastase said on the air of the show on Jurnal TV. At the same time, Nastase suggested that Maia Sandu would not even need their support, since the politician is sure that he, and not Maia Sandu, will enter the second round of elections. “I entered this campaign to qualify for the second round and win the elections. Internal polls show that I am the only one who will face Dodon in the second round, and I have a better chance to defeat him than other candidates do.
