Poland, Lithuania and Romania ask the EU giving Belarus a visa-free regime, access to loans and assistance in joining the World Trade Organization. On Monday, September 21, announced RIA Novosti news agency with reference to the presidents of the three countries statement. “We believe that supporting the people of Belarus, the European Union - as a major world economic power - should provide a package of assistance for democratic economic reforms in Belarus,” the statement says. It is also proposed to promote energy sector and energy security of Belarus diversification. At the same time, the presidents of Poland, Lithuania and Romania emphasized that they would respect any decision of the Belarusian people taken legally and that no one except the people of Belarus has the final right to decide its fate. Earlier, the foreign ministers of the EU countries held a conference on the situation in Belarus, following which they announced the introducing personal sanctions against those responsible for violation of the electoral process and violence against protesters.
