The presidential candidate Igor Dodon criticized the election results in the diaspora. The current president claims that voters from abroad "represent Moldova's parallel electorate."
In terms of domestic results, Dodon is firmly convinced that center-left supporters are in the majority,

“We can say that diaspora is a parallel electorate of the Republic of Moldova. This electorate has its own vision and its own political preferences, and for the most part these preferences of the diaspora differ from the preferences of the majority of the population living and working in the country,” Igor Dodon said.
The current president believes that within the country the voters of the "center-left" constituted 55-60% of the total, which, according to him, means the majority. Dodon expressed hope that the mobilization of this segment will be more active in the second round of elections.
