The presidential candidate, chairman of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu, said this in a video message posted on Thursday on her Facebook page. “They are trying to intimidate us all with horror stories and streams of outright lies. I guarantee you that as President, I will ensure that your rights are fully respected, including the right to use your native language and be taught in your own language. Nobody is going to close Russian schools or limit the scope of the Russian language,” she said. Sandu spoke as well about the May 9 celebration, noting that no one can take away the right of citizens to celebrate this holiday. “We have many different ethnic groups in Moldova and without solid mechanisms to protect their rights, we will not have a protected country. I believe that there should be more representatives of different nationalities of Moldova in the public administration system,” she stressed. According to the politician, the authorities are deliberately stirring up hatred and hysteria in society, since they have no real achievements but only corruption, schemes, smuggling and the” plastic bag", which makes the life of every citizen worse. She insists that to start changing the situation for the better, the country needs a different, responsible and competent president, as well as a different parliament.
