President-elect Maia Sandu met with the US Ambassador to Moldova Dereсk Hogan, to discuss the current situation in Moldova. Maia Sandu thanked the US Ambassador for a strong long-lasting support to our country and its citizens, deschide.md reports. “The constant US assistance to Moldova means a lot to Moldovans, who feel they have a reliable partner on their way to building the rule of law, improving living standards and respecting human rights,” Sandu said. Maia Sandu noted that the citizens of Moldova have been severely affected by the economic and health crisis, and that overcoming these difficulties is an urgent task. “We will get through this difficult time and help entrepreneurs, farmers and families in need, increase hospital capacity and support doctors, inter alia through the cooperation with the United States,” the politician said. President-elect Maia Sandu also spoke about the need to start a new stage in Moldova’s foreign policy and citizen-focused agenda.
