Alexandru Slusari, vice-chairman of parliament and MP of Platform DA, claimed that there are two options leading to early parliamentary elections.
One assumes that the Chicu government will remain for a few more months, but in the end it will fall due to public pressure, while the other assumes the voluntary resignation of the current executive after Maia Sandu's inauguration as president,
agora.md reported.
One of the two scenarios that in the opinion of deputy Alexandru Slusari will still lead to early parliamentary elections Igor Dodon and the PSRM’s attempt to preserve the current minority government.
“With support, I don't know whose. Besides the official or unofficial coalition with the Shor Party, I do not see who can support them. I do not know how long this government will exist, because there will be internal society pressure. Anyway, any outward coalition with Shor is more than dangerous. The country will remain isolated and conditions may worsen. Dodon, if he has the courage, will hold out for 2-4 months, but this government will leave and there will be early elections,” Slusari said.
Another scenario is related to the Chicu government resignation when Maia Sandu’s inauguration as president.
“And after that there are two ways for the situation to develop. One is to immediately start organizing early parliamentary elections with all the existing risks, no budget, no investments and other risks, and that is the most likely option. Or another - to form in a short time, if mathematically possible, a transitional pro-European government that will somehow solve some pressing problems, such as: unblocking international relations, approving fiscal policy, budgets, and a solution to manage the pandemic crisis. Afterwards early elections,” the DA Platform deputy said.
