The incumbent President Igor Dodon said on Monday, December 14, that the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President Maia Sandu is scheduled for December 24. Dodon also announced who will be present at the event, zdg.md reported. “The state protocol informed us about the preparations for the inauguration of the country's president. The protocol notes that the inauguration is scheduled for December 24 with the participation of the incumbent president, prime minister and chairman of the parliament,” Dodon said. On December 10, the Constitutional Court (CC) approved the results of the presidential elections in Moldova, which was won by Maia Sandu. She will take office after taking the oath. The event is scheduled for December 24th. Thus, Maia Sandu becomes the sixth President of the Republic of Moldova and the first woman to hold the highest office in the state.
