The President-elect of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, criticized the MPs adopting projects at the night session.
“At this late hour in parliament, a group of thieves and speculators is dividing the state’s money, the money of people who work and pay taxes. Having completely discredited the legislative process, breaking all the rules, the deputies from the PSRM-Shor majority decided at midnight to divide the country's money among themselves. Shame! The greatest thieves became bosses for the money of honest people, "Sandu said,

"The law on the budget, the most important law of the year, is adopted in a hurry, violating the rules, without taking into account the needs of people and the country - supporting the economy, the medical sector, farmers affected by drought, people left without income due to the crisis, families with children. The law was adopted without real sources of funding but budget deficit on the contrary, it promotes the interests of thieves and allows them continuing thieves' and corruption’s schemes under the protection of PSRM and deputies from the Shor party.
We need to get these thieves out of parliament - early elections! Those who are going to vote today are not statesmen but impostors. They pass these laws at midnight because they are afraid of people's anger. They need to be punished. None of them will escape, " Maia Sandu wrote.
Recall, the Law on the State Budget for 2021 was adopted at a plenary session of Parliament, which took place almost at midnight. The deputies also quickly voted for other projects. The parliamentary session was closed immediately after the vote.
