The leader of the parliamentary faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Corneliu Furculita said that only MPs from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) are in favor of immediate early elections. As Furculita stated on March 10 on the Butonul Roșu broadcast on Moldova 1, PSRM held consultations with all parliamentary factions, and almost everyone agreed that the country now needs a full-fledged government to manage the crisis situation. Furculita noted that PSRM is in favor of holding early elections, "but in this difficult situation, the country needs to solve problems that can only be solved by a full-fledged government." According to Furculita, PSRM has already held the second round of consultations with representatives of all factions, and with most of them "this consensus has been reached." “We held discussions with all parliamentary factions and groups. We can say that this is the second round of consultations. We have some understanding and vision of the situation. Of the entire current parliament, only the PAS faction is in favor of immediate early elections,” Furculita said, explaining that in the parliamentary elections PAS intends to consolidate the result that the party achieved in the last presidential elections. “There is a consensus in parliament, a broad consensus that it is necessary to manage the situation through the appointment of a national salvation or a technical government, call it whatever you like. But this should be a full-fledged government,” Furculita said. Furculita noted that if a full-fledged government is not appointed, the situation will be managed for some time by the interim government with the support of the parliament. We will remind, earlier Furculita said that the parliamentary majority, which includes the Party of Socialists (PSRM), the Shor party and other deputies, can give the current government expanded powers if President Maia Sandu refuses to appoint the candidate for prime minister whom they had nominated. Furculita noted that more than 70 deputies said they were ready to support this initiative. The Socialist Party today, on March 11, will hold a meeting of the political executive committee, at which it will decide on further actions to overcome the political crisis. Earlier, the PSRM demanded that before March 9, President Maia Sandu sign a decree on the nomination of a candidate for prime minister proposed by the parliamentary majority formed to that end.
