The candidate nominated by the Socialists and the Shor Party for the post of prime minister announced on her Facebook page she had decided to withdraw her candidacy. “Dear citizens, friends, there can be a place for cynicism in politics, but not like now, when people's lives are in danger. Therefore, I am making an announcement: I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Moldova. I cannot let my name and reputation to be used settling scores between political clans. I have only accepted this offer desiring to help overcome the crisis and help the country move forward. Now I withdraw my candidacy, but I promise not to leave public life, the bitter experience of recent months prompted me to participate even more in the life of the country in the future, to help citizens, to fight for them. I want to believe and really hope that in the upcoming early elections there will be a place for a new political class with real moral foundations, and all this will allow us to transform the country for better. I count on the solidarity that is typical for us, Moldovans, and I promise to participate in every possible way in the changes for which we voted," Durleshteanu wrote.
