UN Secretary General also said that the world should have access to Russian fertilizers and food
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said progress has been made in talks aimed at removing obstacles to the export of grain stored at Ukrainian ports and ensuring unrestricted access for Russian food and fertilizers to world markets.
“I think there is progress, but we haven’t reached the final results yet”, Guterres said, adding that “it is very complicated” because “everything is interconnected”.
Russia’s war in Ukraine has led to a blockage of the country’s Black Sea ports, causing food exports to many developing countries to stop.
Guterres reiterated that the world should have access to Russian fertilizers and food, “which is also very important for global markets in the current situation”.
