Kuleba said that Ukraine’s priority is to defeat Russia on the real front and to help Moldova win on the information front. The Ukrainian foreign minister, during a conference with journalists from around the world, answered a question about the tools that the Kremlin regime will use to rig the results of the presidential election and the autumn referendum in Moldova. “You don’t have to be a missile expert or an intelligence officer to figure out what Russia intends to do. They will use their media machine and their agents in Moldova to discredit the current Moldovan government and the very idea that Moldova can be an independent and European state. So, if you can find a way to block Russian propaganda from reaching the minds and hearts of your citizens, you will be safe, and the expression of the citizens’ choices will not be distorted by these influences. It’s not easy to achieve this in a 21st century democracy where everyone spends hours, days and nights on their smartphones, but you have to find a way. Otherwise, Russia will continue to distort reality and perceptions in Moldova,” Kuleba noted. The foreign minister from Kyiv reiterated Ukraine’s support for the Moldovan government and citizens, as well as its willingness to help Chisinau resist Russia’s harmful influence. “We wish Moldova all the best, we will always be with the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and if there is anything we can do to help protect you from Russia’s malign influence in the context of this referendum, we will be there to help you. But we will never interfere in the choices of others or act against the will of a particular country. We closely cooperate with Moldova on a range of issues, we have recently received your foreign minister, and we will meet again together with our Romanian counterpart. Our priority is to defeat Russia on the real front and to help Moldova win on the information front,” Dmytro Kuleba concluded.
