From 16 December, Moldova will impose a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days.
The relevant decision has been approved by the government and will be submitted to parliament for approval, ziua.md writes.
The decision was taken due to the risk that the Russian Gazprom will stop supplying gas to the Transnistrian region from 1 January 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian said that the possible risks may be bigger than the energy crisis in autumn 2022.
The government’s draft was approved after the Commission for Emergency Situations had submitted a report on the need to declare a state of emergency.
