The number of workers in the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line will increase from the beginning of next week, representatives of enterprises involved in the project said.
This became known during the inspection of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, reports noi.md.
At the Moldelectrica power station in Chisinau, where the high-voltage line will be connected, work is underway to build foundations for the variac and install the necessary equipment.
The number of workers here was increased back in December, and the proximity to suppliers of construction materials ensures a smooth process.
The modernization of the Chisinau 330 kV station, together with the extension of the Vulcanesti 400 kV station, will allow connecting the transmission line to the power grids of the southern and central regions, including the municipality of Chisinau.
This strategic project aims to provide direct transmission of power flows to the largest consumption hub in the country.
At the same time, work continues on the assembly of the poles, and the pouring of foundations will be resumed when weather conditions improve. So far, more than 200 foundations have been installed and about 30 poles assembled, and the construction site stretches for 65 kilometers.
The overall progress of the project is estimated at 49%. Construction started in April 2024 and covers Gagauzia, as well as the districts of Leova, Cahul and Taraclia.
