Poroshenko said that thanks to U.S. assistance Ukraine’s military allocations have already exceeded 6% of GDP Ukraine got over $1 billion in security assistance from the United States  since 2014, said the President Petro Poroshenko during the handing over of two Island-class patrol boats to Ukraine, RBC reports. “To date we have received more than $ 1 billion from the United States as security assistance. We appreciate the U.S. Congress recent decision to increase this assistance. This supports our military allocations, which have already exceeded 6% of GDP”, Poroshenko said. It should be recalled that Poroshenko have also said that the United States is the world leader in providing practical assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and reminded that in addition to the Americans, Estonian, Canadian, Latvian and Polish instructors helped  in building an effective new Ukrainian army. Speaking in Baltimore (Maryland) during the handing over of two patrol boats to Ukraine, the president said that these countries have strengthened the naval cooperation. RBC Ukraine
