“I think we will still have grounds for removing the president. Let us imagine that we will amend the Constitution introducing of European integration into it, do you think Mr. Dodon will promulgate it? If we soon adopt a new audiovisual code that contains anti-propaganda elements Dodon disagree with, do you think he will promulgate it?” Candu asked. Answering the question why the parliament in this case does not launch impeachment proceedings of the president, Candu said that the parliamentary elections were ahead, and such a referendum would be expensive and furthermore it may not take place. The head of the parliament said that he had not enough authority to influence domestic politics. “I do not like the situation. Unfortunately, President Igor Dodon does not want to understand that no one should be above the law. If the Constitution says that the president is obliged to sign, he must do it ... whether Mr, Dodon likes that PDM with its coalition is  and is running the country, or not - this none of his Business. He is limited in powers”, said Candu. On September 24, the Constitutional Court suspended Igor Dodon from his presidency  and devolved power to sign the  appointing Silvia Radu and Nicolae Ciubuc as ministers of health and agriculture on the speaker of the parliament Andrian Candu.
