Candidates from the Ukrainian President’s party Volodymyr Zelensky, who intends to carry out important reforms, confidently win early parliamentary elections. According to the CEC of Ukraine after processing more than a third of the ballots, the party “Servant of the People” is gaining 42 % of the vote, ahead of the nearest competitor by almost 30 % of the vote. In total, five parties have overcome the electoral threshold for passing to the Rada. Opposition Platform-For Life, declaring the need to improve relations with Russia, is gaining 12.6%, European solidarity of Petro Poroshenko – 8.6%. Batkivshchyna of the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, received 8.3 % of the vote, a new political party Holos, headed by musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk – 6.3%. Of the seats being filled, 225 members are elected from nationwide party lists, while the rest are directly elected in their districts. The results of the exit polls for single-member constituencies have not yet been published. The Ukrainian Parliament consists of 450 MPs. Only 424 of the 450 seats in Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, are up for grabs, with the remaining seats representing Ukraine's Donbass region and Crimea, which was annexed from Ukraine by Russia in a military intervention in 2014.
