DA Platform party is skeptical about the possible conclusion of a “non-aggression pact between right-wing parties”, the text of which appeared on Wednesday in the information space. Party chairman Andrei Nastase admitted at the Wednesday press conference that the day before he met with PAS leader Maia Sandu at the headquarters of DA Platform having a conversation where they “touched upon a large number of questions about the current situation in Moldova”. Nastase indirectly confirmed that the non-aggression pact was also one of them, “but this was not a separate topic of discussion, something specific,” and he saw the text of this pact only in the press, infotag.md reports. “What is important is another thing - we are talking about various pacts, but not talking about principles, values. A non-aggression pact is only necessary when there is the possibility of attack, aggression. But DA Platform has always put before all else - the dialogue, reaching compromises in the name of citizens, national consensus. We did not engage, like other politicians, only in future elections, we always engaged in the future of the country. And if we talk about such a pact it’s only as an integral part of a much larger process. Our vision, the project involves a wider scope – get rid of Dodon in the upcoming presidential elections and everything connected with foreign interests”, - Nastase said. According to the party’s vice-chairman, Alexander Slusar, the pact was proposed by partners in exchange for the DA Platform’s proposal to nominate a single non-party candidate in the presidential election. “That is, our idea was rejected, and we are offered to consider this pact as confirmation that each party should have its own candidate, and we need to agree only on non-aggression. But these pacts do not always work, Igor Dodon in 2016 put also forward similar proposals, but they turned out to be false. We do not need such a document because DA Platform has never acted as an aggressor”, Slusar said.
