The chairman of the Platform Dignity and Truth (DA) party, Andrei Nastase, demands to open a criminal case against President Igor Dodon. According to Nastase on February 21 on his Facebook page, he accuses the head of state of meddling in justice and ordering political affairs. The reason was the words of the former Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office head, Viorel Morar. He said that in November last year Igor Dodon ordered him to open a criminal case against the chairman of DA. In the statement, Nastase also asked the prosecutor general to investigate Dodon’s involvement for namely Alexander Stoianoglo to be elected as head of the prosecutor’s office. “I ask you to investigate the involvement of Igor Dodon in the candidate for the post of head of the prosecutor general’s office selection and on the impact on decision-makers in the Supreme Council of the Magistracy (SCM),” the statement said. Recall, earlier Nastase submitted a request to the Prosecutor General accusing President Igor Dodon of illegal enrichment. The department replied that such issues are not within the competence of the prosecutor's office. Therefore, the complaint to Nastase was submitted to the National Authority for consideration on integrity. “If during the audit ANI finds out that the law has been violated, the materials will be transferred to the prosecutor’s office or the State Tax Service for legal measures,” the prosecutor’s office said then.
